Amazon.com Product Review
If you're thinking about buying a riding mower, the first question you have to ask yourself is how much yard/cutting area you're dealing with. With a 42-inch cutting deck, the Yard Man 605G is appropriate for spaces of around one to two acres. Once you start getting up around three acres, you're going to want something bigger. That said, the Yard Man has more than enough horsepower-nineteen, to be precise-to get the job done. This is much more power than most riding mowers can give you. The 605G also offers a smooth comfortable ride, with autodrive transmission and cruise control. (And what's a riding mower without cruise control, after all?) I would have liked to see a higher seat back to make the kinds of bigger jobs, which this machine was intended to handle, more comfortable. At 18 inches, the turning radius is not as tight as that of other lawn tractors, but I don't feel like this was a huge knock against the machine. The inclusion of the mulch kit is a nice touch, and reflects a trend away from bagging and throwing away your cuttings (it works with leaves, too). If you do want to collect your cuttings, an optional bagger is available from the manufacturer. What really sets the 605G apart is the amount of power it has for its size. If you need the extra oomph without the cost of a larger mower, this is the ride for you.--Josh Dettweiler What's in the Box Tractor, cutting deck, blades, mulch kit
