The good: this is a good machine for the typical suburban lawn. It has plenty of power for somewhat longish grass. It starts reliably, though you have to pull the cord very soon after you release the choke. No problem -- you'll get used to it by the 2nd use of the machine. The grass catcher is a good size and the top handle is sturdy so it is easy to pick up. It has a much easier bagging system to operate then my previous Husqvarna. Disengaging the self-propelled function -- done by releasing the lower bar -- works fast and seamlessly.

The bad: Perhaps I should say, the annoying. As one other writer said, the levers that allow you to adjust the height of the mower were bent -- badly -- fresh out of the box. It took some work with a pair of pliers to get them aligned properly. Yard-Man needs to fix this problem.

Second, the grass catcher does not perfectly align with the body of the machine, so there is maybe an eighth of an inch of space at the top...Read more

Only used 3 - 4 times but so far completely satisfied with performance. Should be 4 stars (my mistake) due purely to relatively brief experience.

I am physically unable to mow my own yard so I am not the one using the mower but the guy who mows for me is delighted with the new mower. He keeps thanking me for getting this mower. The old mower was on its last legs so this is a tremendous improvement.
