Per manufacturers instructions, not to be used on ungraded land which probably means not to be used on stumps, rocks and roots, but for lawn mowing it works great. Docked one point because mulching cover can sometimes catch grass but if you make a minor adjustment it works just fine. 17 of 23 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Snapper 7800179 SE Series SPV21675 21-Inch Briggs & Stratton 190cc 675 Series RWD Self-Propelled Lawn Mower (Lawn & Patio) DO NOT buy the Snapper SPV21675 with the Briggs and Stratton engine.
The cam shaft is very poorly designed and will bend if the blade hits just about anything - small rock, old stump or root etc. It does not have a shear pin and the material of construction of the cam shaft is very poor. I have owned the mower for less than one year and the cam shaft has been bent twice - I have never had this happen with other brands. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Snapper 7800179 SE Series SPV21675 21-Inch Briggs & Stratton 190cc 675 Series RWD Self-Propelled Lawn Mower (Lawn & Patio) I tried also to post this review on Snapper.com, but it looks like they don't want all the bad reviews on their own site. Complaints: 1. Very bad "hand numbing" vibration from the first day - told everything was ok according to snapper specifications. 2. In order to reduce the vibration, after much complaining, the snapper dealership just choked back the throttle. 3. Horrible air filter location/design it gets dirty easily and needs to be cleaned every mow. 4. Self propelling system sticks and keeps pulling you - into mail boxes, flower beds, off curbs, or you muscle to stop it and tear up your grass. 5. It burns oil way faster than any other mower, plan on checking it once a month. FOR DETAILS SEE BELOW History: I've own the mower for the last 2 1/2 years and still hate this thing and felt I had to warn more people. My yard is a half acre pristine southern bermuda lawn. It normally takes me about 30 minutes...Read more |
