Poulan PO500N22SX 22-inch 500 Series Briggs & Stratton Gas Powered Side Discharge Lawn Mower (CARB Compliant)

I received the product as pictured in Amazon and in new condition. However the Owner's manual and registration card were missing. I contacted Poulan and they helped me with the registration and sent me a PDF of the Owner's Manual. The only assembly necessary is the handle and it was easy but I used my old lawn mower's bolts and hand tighteners for the lawn mower handle assembly because the originals were hard fro me to tighten sufficiently. The performance of the engine is very good and easy to start with the recoil-pull-the-rope starter. I find this type of starter a good value for me and this lawn mower. The cut of the grass is less than desired: it shreds the blades instead of cutting the blades and it leaves the shredded turf tops. I checked the blade and it is very sharp. I haven't mowed grass for the last 15 years, but I needed a mower and needed it now, and thanks to Amazon Prime I got this next day aired. Much better than going down to Sears and trying to buy a mower the old fashioned way. Luckily mowing hasn't really changed any in 15 years :). When I got it, Der! I forgot about the oil. The best part, the mower came with a quart of oil! So I'm already loving the manufacturer.

I wanted to mulch, but I couldn't find a plug to fill the discharge. The directions are for every type of push mower Pulan sells, so I couldn't figure it out until reading very carefully just now. Apparently I really should have looked under the mower because it looks like the mulcher shield is bolted underneath. Ooops. Things to do before you put gas in the thing! After one use the rear wheels have 10% of camber in them I tried to straighten them the metal the brackets are made of is soft I feel If I straighten them repeatably they will break Briggs and Straten Motor is great. This winter I will take the motor and put it on my 13 yr old Lawn Boy Chassis which is perfect yet
