I recently purchased the Silent Cut 18" manual reel mower. Upon arrival, I had to put the handle on. It takes tools and some time, but isn't a big deal. Similarly, changing the cutting height requires a wrench, but again, I don't expect to have to do this often so it's not a big deal to me. The mower certainly appears sturdy and well-built.

I bought this mower because I needed something that would cut St. Augustine grass. The 39-lb Silent Cut handles this creeping grass with ease. The only issue is that my 9-yr-old son isn't quite able to manage the mower due to its weight, he'll need to grow into it. As with any manual reel mower, it doesn't cut very tall grass or weeds, and you'll need to edge and clean up your sidewalks. I enjoy using it, albeit it helps that my lawn is not large and flat.
