Husqvarna 64 16-Inch Push Reel Lawn Mower

I can remember mowing the lawn with a push reel mower when I was young. They were heavy and somewhat difficult to push. This Husqvarna 64 mower is the exact opposite: lightweight and easy to push even in 6" tall grass. Our yard is smooth with no rocks or stumps so the Husqvarna 64 mower is a perfect match. It took me less than 10 minutes to assemble the handle and attach it to the blade/reel/wheel assembly. The mower itself is lightweight so lifting it and moving it around it very easy.

The little amount of effort to mow with the Husqvarna 64 truly surprised me. It is easier to push than a conventional mower with no power to the wheels. I actually think I mowed the lawn faster with the Husqvarna 64 than I would with a gas mower because the Husqvarna 64 is so light and easy to maneuver. My wife says that she wouldn't mind using it because it is so easy to push.

The lightweight and high quality design of the this mower makes it ideal for any type of lawn and to replace any kind of powered mower. We have an irregular shaped lawn with different types of grass and slopes and this mower cuts it all beautifully. Don't listen to people that say push reel mowers aren't good for slopes or don't cut nice; walk horizontally across slopes and don't expect a easy job if you let it grow too much between cuts (just like with gas or electric mowers!). Reduce your lawn size by planting veggie and flower beds and replace your gas and electric mower(how do you think electricity is produced?!) with a reel mower.

I live in washington DC and we have tree boxes that are just too small to justify the purchase of a gas or electric lawnmower. This worked so well that I ended up mowing my tree boxes (3' x 6' rectangular areas) and several neighbors! It is very manageable in terms of weight and size. When the grass was more than 4 inches or very thick crab grass, I needed to push over in spurts or start on a higher level and repeat to get down to 1/2 inch heights that I like. Its so easy! It get in tight areas light around trees and light posts so very little "hand trimming" required. Also, I have one tree box with a tree with large roots in it and it actually held its own did the job! Amazon.com was the quickest to deliver... steer away from companies that do not stock them! I waited 1 1/2 months before going back to amazon.com and for $10 more, I got it right away. Easy to assemble... almost a joke.
