The value of a grass catcher is undeniable. If you don't want cut grass strewn across your lawn, you need to either rake after mowing or get a grass catcher. If you've decided a grass catcher is more of a necessity than an alternative, the question becomes what kind to get. One quality to look for is durability, because, let's face it, the grass catcher has a hard row to hoe, getting dragged over all sorts of terrain while wet grass and dirt are spewed into its basket. Another essential quality is rot resistance, because wet grass can cause some damage to frail fabric. This grass catcher sports a durable plastic bottom, polyester rot-resistant fabric, and a heavy-duty wire frame. In addition, it folds up compactly for easy storage. Comment: I don't know why Amazon suggests this item along with the lawnmower that i order. It didn't Fit. I am a kind of person who doesn't like or have time to return things so it's very annoying.

Comment: This grass catcher is not solidly built nor does it fit all sizes of reel mowers. My mower is 18 inches and it did not fit. The bottom is plastic. The sides do not stay up well. I'd consider just mowing the lawn without a grass catcher and see if that works for you.

Comment: wasn't to hard to install. im 5'4 female and did it all on my own. it catches all the grass and makes clean up a breeze. i ordered it through amazon and recieved it 5 days later with free shipping. work's great for me!

Summary: Barely gets the job done 2009-10-01
Comment: Unfortunately, I couldn't find any other universal grass catchers for manual mowers so I bought this one. I didn't expect much and so wasn't very dissatisfied. It's catches about 50% of the grass and is very flimsy. I use it to only catch the grass in my backyard (which is where my compost bin is located) so that I don't have to mess with it in my front yard.

Mower works great, this grass catcher on this mower is useless. Limited points at which to attach chain hook to upright handle support causes either rear of bag to be "slightly" higher than front in which case the grass falls back into the spinning blades OR rear of bag touches ground and jumps off mower support bracket frequently. Gave up on catcher, mowing multiple times (very small yard) to "mulch" grass.
Would recommend manufacturer modify their included brackets with positive closure mechanism in order to prevent accidental disengagement from mower - and perhaps a different chain hook or attachment point physically on mower.
